For me, the study of the voice has been a life-long journey. It was my good fortune to study voice privately for over 40 years with six major teachers—and I learned something from each of them. Eventually, I learned that if you want to be able to sing your best, you must be in touch with what your body is telling you. I am grateful for the years of guidance through which I developed a technique that enables me still to be singing at age 71.
Through my teaching, I have learned that every student is different. Every student perceives his or her own body differently. Every student has mental concepts about music that either help or hinder the singing process. There is no one-size-fits-all way of teaching voice, but there definitely are skills to be mastered and concepts to be understood. I am eager to help younger generations of singers discover their way to healthy, intelligent, and successful singing.
